"நூத்தியொரு டிகிரி காய்ச்சல் இருக்குங்க ! இந்த பாக்கெட்ல டேப்லெட் இருக்கு. டாக்டர் எழுதி கொடுத்திருக்கிறார் . டெஸ்ட் எடுக்க சொல்லியிருக்கார் . காலைல ஒன்பது மணிக்கு போகணும் " என்றேன்.
"உங்களுக்கு எப்படி நன்றி சொல்றதுனே தெரியலே ! ஆம்பளை இல்லாத வீடு இது "
கண் கலங்குகிறது !
என்ன இது ? ஒன்றும் புரியாமல் உன்னைப் பார்க்க , உன் விழிகளிலும் சோகம் !
"ஒரு நிமிஷம் வந்துடறேன் ...வாங்கம்மா " என்று அம்மாவை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு உள்ளே செல்கிறாய் .
அந்த வரவேற்பு அறையின் சுவற்றில் அங்கொன்றும் இங்கொன்றுமாக வர்ணம் தீட்டிய ஓவியங்கள் ! ஒரு நீர்பரப்பின் மீது ஒரு ஜோடி பறவைகள் பறந்து செல்லும் ஓவியம் . பின்னனியில் சூரியன் மறையும் ஆரஞ்சு வண்ணம் கலந்த செவ்வானம் !
டிவியின் மீதுள்ள போட்டோ ப்ரேம்மில் நீயும் உன் குழந்தைகளும் ! அழகான புன்னகையை சிந்திக்கொண்டிருக்கிறாய் !
ஆம்பளை இல்லாத வீடு ! உன் அம்மா சொன்னது காதில் ஒலித்துக் கொண்டேயிருக்கிறது . உன் கணவர் எங்கே ? போட்டோவில் கூட இல்லையே ? ஏன் ? சுற்றும் முற்றும் பார்க்க , வேறு எந்த போடோக்களும் இல்லை !

"அம்மா வராங்க " என்கிறாய் .
கதவை திறந்த அந்த அம்மாவின் முகத்தில் பதற்றம் .
"ஏன் ? என்னாச்சும்மா ?"
"ஒன்னும்மில்லம்மா...லேசான காய்ச்சல் "
"காய்ச்சலா ? டாக்டர்கிட்ட போனியா ?...இவங்க ....? " என்று கேள்வியும் கவலையுமாக என்னை பார்க்கிறார்.
"நான் சொன்னேனே ? அவங்கதான் ...வாங்க ! உள்ள வாங்க "
உள்ளே போனால் ஒரு சிறிய நடை . அந்த இடத்தில் டு வீலர்கள் நிறுத்திக் கொள்ளலாம் . பக்கத்தில் மாடிப் படிகள் மேலே போகிறது.
"பார்த்து எறுங்க" என்கிறேன் .
"என்னை பிடிச்சுக்கம்மா" என்கிறார் அம்மா.
"இல்லம்மா ! நான் வந்துடறேன் ...வாங்க "
மேலே போனோம் .
"உட்காருங்க " என்று என்னை சோபாவில் அமர சொல்கிறாய் .
"அம்மா ...இவங்க தான் என்னை டாக்டர் கிட்ட அழச்சிட்டு போனாங்க "
